After Milan, we’re heading north. From November 27 to December 16, Camp Erech – The Box Exhibition will open its doors in Bolzano, hosted by the warm and sharp minds behind Espace La Stanza. It’s a small, essential place. But it’s exactly the kind of place we look for — where culture is not a performance, but a conversation.
This stop means a lot to us. It brings the story of Riccardo Yahya, his daughters, and their extended community in the Adrar desert of Mauritania into another kind of terrain: alpine, reflective, intimate. And yet, somehow, still desert-like in its clarity.
A Place That Listens
Espace La Stanza isn’t just a gallery. It’s the heart of the Cultural Circle La Stanza, an association created by people who’ve spent years working across art, activism, and social research. Their approach resonates with us: keep things small, but meaningful. Create space for stories that don’t fit the usual formats. Let the work speak for itself.
During the exhibition, we’ll be there. Not just with prints and frames, but with our notebooks, our cameras, and open time for conversation. As always with Ayzoh!, Camp Erech is not just something to look at — it’s something to sit with.
A Note from Maria
I’ll be there in person for part of the exhibition. For me, La Stanza is the perfect name — it means “the room” in Italian. And that’s what we hope to create: a room where people can breathe, pause, and share. Where Mauritania doesn’t feel far. Where you don’t need to understand everything to feel something. If you’re in or near Bolzano, come find us.
