In every corner of the world, dance rises—spontaneous, raw, defiant. These black and white photographs by Claudio Maria Lerario capture movement as language, protest, ritual, joy. Created for UNESCO’s International Dance Day, this series is a tribute to bodies that speak without words, and to the shared pulse that binds us beyond borders, beats, and silence.

Rimini, Italy / A mother dances, her movements soft and sure. Her sons watch—one with a toy in hand, the other with wonder in his eyes. On the grass, beneath a pale sky, a family becomes choreography. In Rimini, love takes form in motion, and dance becomes what it has always been: a language made of presence.
