Journée Internationale de la Dance / 003
In every corner of the world, dance rises—spontaneous, raw, defiant. These black and white photographs by Claudio Maria Lerario capture movement as language, protest, ritual, joy. Created for UNESCO’s International Dance Day, this series is a tribute to bodies that speak without words, and to the shared pulse that binds us beyond borders, beats, and silence.
Arba Minch, Ethiopia / She dances, face half-hidden, joy fully revealed. Once trapped in silence, now she moves freely—celebrating a life reclaimed. In Arba Minch, under the night’s gaze, freedom finds rhythm. Thanks to Ayzoh!’s support, her dance is no longer survival, but declaration. A swirl of fabric, a burst of grace: this is what rising looks like.
